Playbook 4: the Community Hub tool station
Circle: Toolbox — a community aggregating Mixin-ecosystem tools (Community Hub layout, free).
Problem: the community’s value is connecting people with the right tools, but the tools live in a dozen bots and answers travel by word of mouth.
Goal: opening the circle gives members a tool directory — the bots they need, one tap away; the owner maintains one list and the whole group benefits.
What members experience
Section titled “What members experience”- Opening the home: no feed — the home page is the entry grid: market bot, airdrop-calendar bot, support bot, and two frequently used links, ordered by how often they’re used.
- Tapping any card: bot entries jump straight into that Mixin bot’s conversation; links open the web.
- Visitors who haven’t joined: they see the introduction card — the owner’s blurb plus buttons to the two most-used tools.
- A persistent note: the notice bar up top announces this week’s new tools.
What the owner does
Section titled “What the owner does”| Step | Where | What |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Collect the bots | Content → Friendly links | Add the ecosystem’s bots as friendly links with descriptions and tags |
| 2. Lay the home | Content → Home entries | Top-level bot entries (picked from friendly links) and external links; order by usage |
| 3. Tuck the rarely used | Same page | Put occasional tools in a folder — in Community Hub folders group backstage only, members see top-level entries; a folder with a single target jumps straight there, which makes it a nice “alias” |
| 4. Write the intro card | Settings → Welcome & onboarding | The visitor card gets a blurb and link buttons to two flagship tools |
| 5. Announce | Settings → Notice bar | One line for this week’s additions, pinned to the top |
Variations
Section titled “Variations”- Pair it with auto replies: add an auto reply triggered by “tools” that answers with an app card of new tools — when someone asks in chat, the bot answers for you (see playbook 1).
- Self-service: add “Orders” and “Profile” entries so members handle their own errands without an admin.
