Showcase pages & cards

In the Trading Hub console, “Content → Showcase pages & cards” holds two lists that don’t belong to each other, which is exactly why it confuses people: a belongs to no page, and a holds no content. Three rules make the setup click:

  1. Pages collect cards by tag. The page lists filter tags, the card lists display tags; matching any one of them puts the card on that page. One card can show up on many pages.
  2. A page with no filter tags shows every card. The other side of that coin: a card with no display tags only appears on such “catch-all” pages.
  3. Members only see a page that holds a tab-bar slot. Home and Mine are fixed; up to three page slots sit between them.

The left side is a simulated console, the right a member’s phone. Every change lands on the phone immediately.

Showcase cards

A card belongs to no page — it appears on every page its display tags hit.

Showcase pages

Pages hold no content: they collect cards by filter tag. None selected = every card shows.

A suggested order of experiments:

  • Turn off the “teacher” filter tag on the Faculty page — the phone page empties out with “No cards match”.
  • Turn off every filter tag — the page switches to showing all four cards (rule 2).
  • Give “Beginners lounge” the “teacher” display tag — it appears on the Faculty page at once.
  • Set Slot 1 to “Empty” — the matching tab disappears from the phone; hit “Preview” and the page shows a ⚠ warning: members can’t reach it (rule 3).
  • Cycle a card’s “Tap action”, then tap that card in the phone to see detail page, contact, link, and nothing happen in turn.

A person card can bind a circle member — the avatar, name, and contact card come straight from them; without one, fill in a “Contact Mixin ID” instead. Deleting a card removes it from every page and from course speaker credits.

When a member taps a card, the action is picked in this order — each step only applies if everything above it is blank:

  1. Detail page content — opens the card’s detail page;
  2. Bound member / contact Mixin ID — opens the Mixin contact card;
  3. Link URL — opens the external link;
  4. None of the above — the tap does nothing.

Leave the button label blank to use the style’s default (person “View profile”, group “Contact assistant”).

  • Arrangement — grid (two columns) or list (one column); flip it and watch the phone;
  • Subtitle / intro strip / footnote strip — small text under the title, above the cards, and below the cards;
  • Sort order — where the page sits in the console list.

Creating the page is step one; pin it to the under “Settings → Appearance → Layout customize”:

  • at most three middle slots; a blank slot label falls back to the page title;
  • delete the page and its tab disappears with it;
  • slots aren’t the only entrance: a home entry card can jump straight to a showcase page using its numeric ID.
  • Created a card, but the page is empty? The card’s display tags and the page’s filter tags don’t intersect. Give the card the tag the page uses.
  • Members can’t find the page? It isn’t pinned to the tab bar. Give it a slot in layout customize.
  • Want one card on several pages? Give it several display tags, or let the pages share one filter tag.
  • Can the win rate be 120? No — only numbers from 0 to 100.

The Trading Hub layout itself requires Circle VIP.
