Chat modes & auto-replies
Conversation is the heartbeat of a circle. Find the settings in Console → Settings → Chat rules, and in Console → Chat. Every time you switch modes, the bot direct-messages the members who subscribed to messages.
The four modes, and when to use them
Section titled “The four modes, and when to use them”- Default mode — members direct-message you and the admin team, and you reply by quoting. The most one-to-one feel; suits consulting-style and private circles.
- Broadcast mode — messages from you, your admins, and lecturers are pushed to everyone, and member replies are visible only to your admin team (and lecturers). Suits daily digests and story pushes; the previous day’s broadcasts are gathered into a replay automatically.
- Lecture mode — everything you say is visible to everyone in real time, and the whole session is recorded as a replay. Use
/qa onto open questions and/qa offto close them. A replay post is generated when you finish. - Group mode — everyone talks to everyone; the circle becomes one big group. Requires Circle VIP.
Switching to Lecture mode asks for a second confirmation (it warns you that recording starts).
Auto-replies
Section titled “Auto-replies”Console → Chat → Auto-replies: set trigger keywords and the reply content. A reply can be text, a long-form post, a contact card, or an app card (with cover, title, description, and buttons).
- Common uses: a new member sends “start” and gets the guide post back; someone sends “courses” and gets a card with the purchase link.
- If a trigger keyword collides with a platform command (like
/help), it overrides that platform command — the interface warns you clearly. - Each rule can be test-run (a simulated conversation on the page) and sent to your own Mixin for a preview.
Message filtering and pacing
Section titled “Message filtering and pacing”Settings → Chat rules also lets you:
- Message cooldown — the minimum number of seconds between two messages from the same member (120 = one message every two minutes); set 0 to turn it off.
- Content filters — automatically block links, images, voice, or card messages.
