Create a bot on Mixin
A circle runs on a Mixin bot. You create the bot in Mixin’s official developer console, and it’s free the whole way.
- Sign in at developers.mixin.one by scanning the QR code with Mixin Messenger.
- Create a bot and fill in its name, description, and avatar — this is how your circle will appear to members, and you can change it all later.
- Once the bot is created, open its key settings page and download the credentials file (keystore).
- Copy the client secret from the app’s OAuth section — it is not in the keystore file; you’ll need both the keystore and the client secret when connecting.
- Store the keystore and the client secret somewhere safe — you’ll need them in the next step.
About the credentials file
Section titled “About the credentials file”The credentials file is the bot’s entire identity: whoever holds it can send and receive messages as the bot and use the bot’s wallet.
- Upload it only when connecting to OhMy.xin, and never send it to anyone — including anyone claiming to be official.
- If you lose it, you can generate a new one; the old file stops working.
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”- No verification when signing in to developers.mixin.one — make sure you’re scanning the code with the latest version of Mixin Messenger.
- Can’t find where to download the keys — open your bot’s detail page in the developer console; the key settings live under the app information.
