Live video streams (Oh My Live)

is Circle VIP video streaming: the owner and admins push from OBS or a phone encoder, members watch in the circle or in the room, and the session can leave a replay. Find it at Console → Content → Lives.

  • Who can host — the circle owner and admins.
  • Audience:
    • Members only — only circle members can see and join it.
    • Listed on Oh My Live — the title and circle appear in the public /live directory; watching still requires joining the circle.
  • Title, description, and cover — the cover is 16:9, PNG/JPG, up to 5 MB.
  • Start time — go live now or schedule up to 30 days ahead.
  • Recording — record and publish a replay, and decide whether members can see it.
  • Announcement — a scheduled live can announce itself to subscribers; members can also set their own reminder.
  1. Create and save the live, then copy the server and from Ingest.
  2. Enter both in OBS or a phone encoder (Larix, Prism).
  3. Recommended settings: H.264 + AAC, CBR single bitrate — 2500–4000 kbps for 720p30, 2-second keyframe interval, B-frames off, audio 128 kbps / 48 kHz.
  4. Go live enables once your encoder starts pushing. If the push drops, the live enters a reconnect grace window and resumes automatically when the push returns.
  5. End closes the live and members lose the stream.

Console → Content → Lives has three tabs:

  • Now & upcoming — the on-air sessions with recording state, elapsed time, and viewers, plus scheduled lives and reminder counts.
  • Past — each session’s length, peak viewers, members who joined through the live, and replay state.
  • Usage — this month’s live minutes and quota. You are warned at 90%, and a live ends automatically when the quota runs out. The platform can override the quota for an individual circle.

A circle can only run one live at a time.

  • Members enter from the live card in circle chat, the live strip on the circle home, or the /live directory.
  • Room chat mirrors circle chat and follows the current chat mode: the mode decides what members see and whether they can post.
  • The owner and admins can switch the mode right in the room; every open room reloads its chat to follow.
  • Off air, the room hides the viewer count and composer.

The demo below recreates the room from the member’s perspective. Use the host panel on the right to switch modes and open Q&A — and notice two things: the member’s chat hint reloads the moment you switch, and in Default mode even the host’s own posts never reach the chat; switch to Broadcast or Lecture to speak to everyone.

Live chat

This chat mirrors the circle's Mixin conversation and follows its message mode.

Default mode: your messages reach only the host team. Other viewers won't see them.

Default mode: members' messages reach only the host team, and your messages don't go to the chat. Reply by quoting in Mixin, or switch to broadcast or lecture to speak to everyone.

Tap "Tap to watch" on the stage, then use the console to switch the network or chat mode and watch the room react.
    • With recording on, the live produces a replay when it ends and adds it to the circle’s replay list.
    • You control whether the replay is visible to members. The replay page reuses the room chrome and marks recording segments.
    • No Lives entry in the console — the platform has not enabled it for the circle, or Circle VIP is not active.
    • Go live is greyed out — your encoder has not started pushing yet.
    • The live ended on its own — the monthly minutes may be used up, or the push was down past the grace window.
    • Members cannot find the live — check the audience; with Members only, only joined members can see it.
